The application for St. Louis Alumnae Chapter’s Mind Guard Scholarships is now available. Applications must be received by Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Please note:
Female high school seniors who are currently participating in any Rites of Passage/Cotillion affiliated with any chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are ineligible for this scholarship.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – On the Cusp of 100 Years

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 1913. Delta Sigma Theta was incorporated in 1930.

St. Louis Alumnae introduces EMBODI

EMBODI is a national program sponsored Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public-service sorority.  The purpose of the program is to focus on improving the plight of the African American male. EMBODI is designed for boys between the ages of 13 thru 18. Both informal and empirical data suggests that the vast majority of African-American males continues to be in crisis and is not reaching their fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally.

St. Louis Alumnae Celebrates Founders Day

Mona H. Bailey, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s 17th National President, will give the keynote address at the St. Louis Alumnae Chapter’s Founders Day celebration at the Hilton Frontenac Hotel 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22. The theme is “Deltas: Continuing to Build Bridges to the Future.”

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Mourns Beloved 10th National President and Civil Rights Matriarch, Dr. Dorothy Irene Height

WASHINGTON—Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. across the globe are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, the organization’s 10th National President and chair and president emerita of the National Council of Negro Women. Dr. Height died early on the morning of April 20th of natural causes at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
