The Educational Development Committee is designed to emphasize scholastic achievement and higher academic development, promote service learning, foster college preparation and planning, and award college scholarships.
St. Louis Alumnae Chapter is invested in developing the minds of our future youths. The mission of SLA’s educational development program is to mentor youth participants through workshops, seminars, activities, and scholarship opportunities.
The St. Louis Alumnae Chapter focuses on the development of youth programs for girls ages 11-18. The chapter’s annual programs include
- The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy for girls ages 11-14
- Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Institute for girls ages 14-18
- Delta Twinkles program for girls ages 6-10.
Under the Educational Development umbrella as a subcommittee is the Mind Guard Scholarship program.
